Privacy Policy

Effective August 1, 2014

The following policy outlines what kind of information Science Bistro LLC (the “Company” or “we”) collects and what we do with it. By using Festology (the “Service”), you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. The Company reserves the right to update this privacy policy without notice, or have it be superceded in cases where the Company has merged, has been acquired or has had another business transaction occur, with or by another company. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information you choose to make public, which includes but is not limited to event data. Your continued use of the Service after changes to the Privacy Policy are posted constitute your acceptance of the changes.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The Company may collect information explicitly entered into the Service, such as contact information (including but not limited to name, address, emails and phone numbers), a username and passwords and search queries.

The Company or third parties may collect information implicitly entered into the Service, such as page views, downloads, video views, clicks, movement, advertisement interaction, usage patterns and other types of interactions as well as information available to the Company’s server, including but not limited to cookies, your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser and operating system, your browser history and future browser data, your computer’s configuration, and other information logged by servers. This information may be able to identify you.

The Company may collect or record emails, phone calls, phone messages and other communications, including the name and address of the sender, for a person sending the Company a communication. The Company may collect information from surveys, polls, contests and sweepstakes or for newsletters or purchase completion, among other reasons. You may refuse to enter this information, but it is likely that you will be denied a service if you refuse. Optional information may also be requested that does not affect your level of service.

WHAT WE DON’T COLLECT
The Service does not require information such as social security numbers, medical health and criminal records, nor does it require bank information or credit card information, though we do include links to other sites (i.e., PayPal.com, which adheres to PCI compliance standards) where you may be asked for this type of information for the purpose of registration, payment processing and/or account maintenance. Any data of this type entered into the Service is entered at your own risk.

HOW WE SHARE THE INFORMATION
You agree that much of the information is entered for public display, and you agree to allow the public to view the adapted or non-adapted information.

When not in conflict with any other terms of service or terms of the privacy policy, your identifiable information will not be shared with third parties or sold to third parties without your consent. Aggregated information may be shared or sold with third parties to improve or provide service. Be aware that third parties, such as advertisers, can often read information from your computer even when you do not provide it explicitly. Even your anonymous contributions may identify you, so be aware of what you reveal.

If you enter comments, these may be shared with public web users and are not bound by this Privacy Policy.

We may share information with third parties and third parties may share information with us for features including but not limited to tracking, commenting, order fulfillment, payment processing and advertisement personalization. As a result of these interactions, your experience might be personalized or customized, you might receive a product or service, or you may receive no benefit.

Some or all data may be transferred in the event of a merger, acquisition or other business transaction.

THIRD PARTY DATA COLLECTION
Note that third parties may collect information about you and your computer without notice.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by third parties, including but not limited to Google, PayPal, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon and Disqus, nor does it apply to external sites linked to from the Service. The Company is not liable for illegal acts committed by third parties. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of the third parties.

The Company may link to external services with which the Company is an affiliate and from which the Company may be compensated. These services are selected for quality.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION
Much of the information you enter is redisplayed as part of the Service (see the Terms of Service), including your shortname and event-related content, or it may be used to fulfill requests for service or it may be used to grant access to service. Personal information will not be shared or sold to third parties in a fashion outside what is outlined in the privacy policy without your permission.

Some account information will be redisplayed as part of the Service (see ther Terms of Service), but your name, email address, phone numbers, and external account handles will not be redisplayed to or shared with the public, but this information will be used to communicate with you to confirm updates to settings or changes in account status, to relay emergency messages or to provide newsletters, information about new features or services, promotional messages, news or other information, or to personalize such communications.

This information may also be used for account authentication, billing and statements, research or other business improvement. Information may be compiled or aggregated for analysis to improve the Service or business or to market the Company or Service, and it may be combined with data from third parties.

The Company may employ third parties, including but not limited to credit card processors or data hosters, who might have access to the information and whose Privacy Policy differs from the Company. Third parties are employed to carry out specific services and action will be taken upon violation of this agreement.

The Company may review or preview information, but is not obliged to act on the information and takes no responsibility for violation of the Terms of Service resulting from the implicit or explicit entry of information.

The Company may be compelled to share personal information or act on information, in cases including but not limited to a violation of the Terms of Service, protection of the Company’s rights, protection of the rights of others, resolution of an emergency, a court order and other valid legal requests.

HOW TO CHANGE INFORMATION
You may update your Service account information by visiting the setting labeled “Edit your Email & Password” once your are logged in to Festology. Event data can be edited or deleted once you are logged in to Festology.

COOKIES
The Company uses cookies to store sessions, to establish login, and to track page visits and interactions over time and may also use cookies to manage analytics or comment or to display advertisements, among other reasons. Cookies and cookie data may expire periodically or after suspicious of a security violation, which may require re-entering data or signing in again. Cookies may also be used by third parties, including but not limited to Google and Disqus, to manage analytics or comments or to display advertising, among other uses. The Company has no control over third party cookies.

HOW TO REMOVE YOUR INFORMATION
You may delete your account with the Service by contacting info at festology dot com. Your event data will be removed, but note that some residual data, such as comments and information stored by third parties, may not be removed.

You may unsubscribe from email mailing lists by following the ‘unsubscribe’ links at bottom of mailing list emails.

MINORS
This Service is intended for adults over the age of 18 and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Please contact us if you are the legal guardian of a child under 13 who you suspect has participated in this Service.

SECURITY
The Company employs security measures to protect and validate data. Passwords and sensitive information are stored encrypted and information may be transmitted encrypted over Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connections. The Company is unable to retrieve passwords. Credit card information is processed by third parties over SSL connections. Although the Company takes great effort to keep your data secure, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure so we cannot guarantee security. The Company does not provide additional security for most public web users.

Any Company worker or representative who violates the security policy will receive disciplinary action.

The Company can not guarantee that the Service will function or that external content will function to protect your security or your computer, and the Company will not be responsible for any resulting loss or damage. You shall assume all risk by using this Service. Refer to the Terms of Service.

The Company may make contact with you if it deems it appropriate after a security issue is raised if we have contact information, but we are not obliged to do so.
