Disqus-Powered Comments

Control your comments with Disqus and Festology.

Some themes in Festology make use of Disqus, which is an external commenting system that we’ve been a fan of for a long time. You can see which themes are Disqus-enabled in the theme browser for your series (under “Series Setup”). You will need a Disqus account to use Disqus comments, but it’s easy to connect your account to your Festology site:

Managing Comments With Disqus

  1. Go to http://disqus.com/admin/register/
  2. Enter your site details: the “Site URL”, “Site Name” and “Site Shortname”. Make note of your “Site Shortname”. You’ll need that to connect Disqus to Festology. Note: The shortname might not be the username you use to log in to your Disqus account.
  3. If you don’t already have a Disqus account, this page will let you create one. Otherwise, you can sign in by clicking on “Already have a profile?”

Connecting Disqus to Festology

  1. Go to Festology’s “Setup” tab. Enter your Disqus “Site Shortname” in the Social/Links section.
  2. If you haven’t yet, select a Disqus-enabled theme in the theme browser (under the “Series Setup” section) for the Event Series for which you’d like to have comments.

Now, when your visitors leave comments using Disqus, you’ll be able to manage them by logging in to your account at Disqus.com. Note that Festology is not able to log in to your Disqus account and doesn’t affect your Disqus account in any way (besides people leaving comments or similar Disqus features, of course). You can refer to the Disqus Terms and Privacy for more information.
