Participants vs. Performers: What’s the Difference?

If you’re organizing a diverse event series with Festology, you might want to distinguish the “conference” part of your event from the “performances” part of your event.  This is where the difference between “participants” and “performers” becomes important. Using both is a good way to separate those two parts of your event series.

In Festology, both are similar, but only “participants” can be added to films/plays/works. “Performers” have some additional fields that let you specify the style of the performer and group members.

If for some reason, you only want to use one of the two, use “participants”.  That will give you the most flexibility.  If you decide later that you want to have more types of “participants”, you can separate them by putting them into “categories”.
